V-Strap Slippers

Yarn: approx. 100(125, 150) yards of worsted weight

Tools: 5.0mm crochet hook, tapestry needle, scissors

Skill Level: Beginner

Gauge: 4 rows of 5 sc = 1″x1″

Stitches: (ch)chain, (sl st)slip stitch, (sc)single crochet

S(M, L)

Toe: Ch.3, join w/sl st. in 1st st. to form ring.

Round 1: Ch.1, sc 6sc in ring, join w/sl st. in beg. (6 sc)

Round 2: Ch.1, 2sc in each sc around, join w/sl st. in beg. (12 sc)

Round 3: Ch.1, *2sc in nxt st., sc in nxt st.* repeat from * around, join w/sl st. in beg. (18 sc)

Round 4: Ch.1, *2sc in nxt st., sc in nxt 2sts. * repeat from * around, join w/sl st. in beg. (24 sc)

Large Size Only:

Round 5: Ch.1, *2sc in nxt st., sc in nxt 3 sts. * repeat from *around, join w/sl st. in beg. (30 sc)

All Sizes:

Round 5 (5, 6): Sc continuously around until toe piece measures 3” (3”, 3.5”) in length, sl st. in nxt 3 sts. Do no finish off.

Bottom:

Row 1: Ch.1, sc in nxt 14 (14, 20) sts.

Row 2: Turn, ch.1, sc in each sc across.

Row 3-16 (20, 24): Repeat Row 2.  Finish off.  Leave tail long.  Fold length together and whip stitch back seam together with tapestry needle.  Finish off and weave in end.

Back Loop:

Row 1: Join w/sc in top of back of heel, sc in nxt sp.

Row 2: Turn, ch.1, sc in each sc. (2 sc)

Row 3-8: Repeat Row 2.  Finish off.  Leave tail long.  Fold loop in half and stitch with tapestry needle through Row 8 into top of heel to make loop.  Finish off.  Weave in end.

V-Strap:

Row 1: Looking down at the top of the slipper count from the right of the opening above the toe.  Count to the 4th stitch from right.  Join here w/sc and sc in nxt sc. (2 sc)

Row 2: Turn, ch.1, sc in each sc across. (2 sc)

Row 3-32 (36, 40): Repeat Row 2

Finish off leaving long tail.  Slip strap through back loop and connect to toe opening w/sl st through each sc of last row of strap and the 6th and 7th sc of toe opening.  Finish off.  Weave in ends.
